Earlier this week, it was announced that the upcoming release of EA SPORTS NHL10 will feature Patrick Kane on the cover. Kane is the youngest player ever chosen to grace the cover of this NHL series and is just the second American-born player to be featured on the cover of the best-selling EA SPORTS hockey video game franchise. New York Rangers goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck was the first when he was featured on the cover of NHL 97.

“It’s exciting to be on the cover of my favorite video game after playing just my second year as a professional,” Kane said in a news release from the company. “When you look back at some of the great players who have had this opportunity, it’s exciting … to contribute to a game I’ve been playing for more than 10 years.”

At only 20 years old, what an accomplishment. At 20, most of us were just trying to figure out the cheats to this game or create our own player with some witty name like Haywood Jablowme or Hugh G Rection. It is great that they captured Patrick’s ever present mouthpiece hanging out the side of his mouth.

The EA game is due out Sept. 15 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
