Flames take Game 3
Chicago Blackhawks @ Calgary Flames – Game 3
4 – 2 Loss
Game 3 in Calgary, with the Hawks up 2-0 in the series. The Flames really need this win, so they will be throwing everything they have at the Hawks. Kane was a late scratch with the flu.
The Hawks got off to a quick start, going on the power play in the first 2 minutes of the game. It only took them 12 seconds to score. A great pass from Toews, who was on the goalline, to Sharp who was cutting up the slot. It didn’t take long for the Flames to tie it up. A tipped shot from the circle beat Khabi to finish the first period tied at 1.
The second is when things started to go south for Chicago. The Hawks allowed only 1 in the second, but they didn’t appear to have the same intensity that they had in the first. By the end of the second, the Flames were up 2-1 and had all the momentum going into the 3rd. Bourque’s goal in the 2nd period was weak as he just threw a no look shot at the front of the net, hitting Khabi’s blocker and going in.
The 3rd period the wheels fell off the Hawks wagon. David Moss scored a pair of goals, or at least he was credited with 2, The first of the pair was a big rebound that came out to the slot. The second Moss goal just hit him in the skate and going in. That was it. Hawks were down 4-1, this game was over. The Hawks did score one more. but it was a little late for any rally.
The Hawks didn’t skate bad, but they were knocked around all night. They were out hit on the scoresheet 45-31. The Flames just seem to have a nastier streak in general. Just as game 2, there was alot of action after the whistle. The Hawks had the physical play taken to them.
Time to move on and concentrate on game 4, Wednesday night. The Hawks need to come out hitting from the opening face off. With some bad feeling bound to carry over, it should be a good one.
Positives:
× The Hawks started to hit back
× The quick and brief lead the Hawks got out to
Negatives:
× The Hawks are getting pushed around out there.
Game Notes:
× Kane was out with the flu. No word at this time on if he will be able to go on Wednesday.
MVB (Most Valuable Blackhawk):
× Patrick Sharp – Patrick had a goal and an assist, both very nice plays.

Bertuzzi and Bourque can each eat a bag of dicks.
We’ll see what suspensions come down later today. That Wild West show at the end of the game will probably put at least Burish and maybe Bourque in the press box for tomorrow night.
